Jesus is ascended into heaven.

“From there he will return to judge the living and the dead.” Says the apostolic creed.

But Jesus isn’t just parked in heaven. He sits to “the right of God the father”. And he leads from there his followers on the earth while they act on his great commission:

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28,18-20

But the most important thing is this: Jesus does now what his work description was that John the baptist gave him and how he announced him (which is reported in all four gospels):

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3,11-12

Jesus is the Baptiser in the Holy Spirit!

The gift of the Holy Spirit is the seal on every true repentance towards God. This heavenly confirmation comes directly from Jesus, the Baptiser at God’s right side. He is the Chief Executive Officer for this central salvation issue.

Only God knows our hearts, and he knows exactly when and to whom the Holy Spirit outpouring is given to.

And together with the Holy Spirit God’s overflowing love, the mightiest power on the planet is poured out into our heart.

In this way Jesus participates as keyplayer to the mission he has given to his disciples: To spread the message that the Kingdom of God has already started to take place on earth. And that the earth and it’s inhabitants shall be saved and transformed to be worthy of heaven, that will come down to earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Acts 1,9-11
